The Risen King's Authority

The prophet Daniel had a remarkable vision of the "Son of Man" coming with the clouds of heaven, receiving authority, glory and sovereign power from Elohim (God). This prophecy, written centuries before Yeshua's (Jesus') birth, points directly to Christ's resurrection and ascension. When Yeshua (Jesus) appeared to His disciples after rising from the dead, He declared "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me."

As believers, we serve a Risen King who has ultimate power and dominion. Yet how often do we live as if Yeshua (Jesus) is truly Lord over every area of our lives? Take time to reflect on areas where you may be holding back authority from Christ. Are there worries, relationships, or ambitions you haven't fully surrendered? Ask Elohim (God) to help you live in light of Christ's Lordship today.

Prayer: Lord Yeshua (Jesus), I acknowledge You as the Risen King with all authority. Help me to surrender every area of my life to Your loving rule. May I live today in the confidence and power that comes from serving You. Amen.

Daniel 7:13-14

New King James Version

13 “I was watching in the night visions,

And behold, One like the Son of Man,

Coming with the clouds of heaven!

He came to the Ancient of Days,

And they brought Him near before Him.

14 Then to Him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom,

That all peoples, nations, and languages should serve Him.

His dominion is an everlasting dominion,

Which shall not pass away,

And His kingdom the one

Which shall not be destroyed.

Jesus Gives Instructions to the Disciples

16 The eleven disciples went to the mountain in Galilee where Yeshua had told them to go. 17 When they saw him, they bowed down in worship, though some had doubts.

18 When Yeshua came near, he spoke to them. He said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 So wherever you go, make disciples of all nations: Baptize them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. 20 Teach them to do everything I have commanded you.

“And remember that I am always with you until the end of time.”
