What Are You Really Hungry For?

We live in a culture that feeds the flesh but starves the spirit. Our cravings control us more than our convictions. We reach for sugar, salt, fat, and fast satisfaction, while neglecting the Word, prayer, and the presence of Elohim.

But what are we truly hungry for? If our stomachs have become our gods, like Paul warns, we’re feeding shame instead of strength.

Daniel shows us that when you hunger for righteousness more than reward, Elohim will fill you—mind, body, and soul.

So pause today and ask: Am I feeding my flesh more than my spirit? Is my hunger holy?

Philippians 3:18–19 (NOG)

18 I have often told you, and now tell you with tears in my eyes, that many live as the enemies of the cross of Christ. 19 In the end they will be destroyed. Their own emotions are their god, and they take pride in the shameful things they do. Their minds are set on worldly things.

Proverbs 23:20–21 (NOG)

20 Do not associate with those who drink too much wine,

with those who eat too much meat,

21 because both a drunk and a glutton will become poor.

Drowsiness will dress a person in rags.

Matthew 5:6 (NOG)

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for God’s approval.

  They will be satisfied.
