What is the Daniel Fast?

The Daniel Fast is a 21-day partial fast inspired by the prophet Daniel. In Daniel 1, he and his friends ate only vegetables and drank water for ten days to stay faithful to Yahweh. Later, in Daniel 10:2–3, he mourned for three weeks, eating “no choice food; no meat or wine.”
This fast is not about rules but about setting aside rich or indulgent foods to focus more fully on prayer, humility, and devotion to Elohim.

Purpose of the Daniel Fast

  • To refocus your life on Elohim by removing distractions.
  • To practice self-control and spiritual discipline.
  • To pray for personal renewal, church unity, and breakthrough.
  • To remember that “man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of Elohim” (Matthew 4:4).

  • Plan your meals in advance to stay consistent.
  • Use the extra time for prayer, worship, and reading Scripture.
  • Journal your reflections and any breakthroughs you experience.

The Daniel Fast is not about food rules — it’s about hungering more for Elohim than for earthly things.
